Hudson Anderson
Law Clerk
Hudson is a Law Clerk at Payne Law Firm, where he supports the attorneys by drafting motions, conducting legal research, reviewing discovery, preparing sealing orders and petitions, and attending court. His work helps ensure that every case is handled thoroughly, thoughtfully, and with the client’s best interests in mind.

Hudson holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations from Arkansas Tech University, where he also earned a master’s degree in Student Affairs Administration and a graduate certificate in advising. He is currently pursuing his Juris Doctor at the University of Arkansas School of Law, with an anticipated graduation in 2027.

Before joining Payne Law Firm, Hudson worked in a variety of roles across education and public service, including Case Manager for the University of Arkansas Office of Student Accountability, Civics and Economics Teacher at Batesville High School, Alumni/Recruitment Coordinator for TRiO Programs at Lyon College, and Adjunct Instructor at Arkansas Tech University. These experiences strengthened his ability to communicate, mentor, and advocate — skills he now brings to criminal defense.

Hudson has always been drawn to the law, though the path to law school wasn’t straightforward. As a first-generation college student, he wasn’t sure the profession was accessible. But after working alongside attorneys during his time at the University of Arkansas, he felt the pull to pursue the career he’d always imagined. At the heart of that decision was a desire to help people.

A Batesville native, Hudson now lives in Fayetteville. Outside of work, he runs a photography business, enjoys reading nonfiction, and loves to travel. He also volunteers with Legal Aid of Arkansas — staffing record-sealing and free legal clinics, including spring break outreach through the Road to Justice program.

Something fun most people don’t know: he used to compete in archery. He now shares life with his dog, Lulu. His favorite shows are reality TV, and his go-to drink is an iced vanilla latte with oat milk. His favorite advice: Don’t let perfection get in the way of progress.

What he enjoys most about Payne Law Firm is the supportive environment. With attorneys and staff committed to mentorship, Hudson appreciates the opportunity to grow, learn the legal process, and develop into the strongest future advocate possible. His approach to clients centers on listening deeply so they feel seen, heard, and understood as they navigate the stress of the legal system.
Hudson is motivated by the constant opportunity to learn and the satisfaction of knowing his work helps build strong, informed defenses. He takes pride in contributing behind the scenes to ensure every client receives the best representation the firm can offer.
